Dear Bloggie,

A very long post ahead.. =)

  1. Jetstar Asia

I wrote a damn fierce email to Jetstar Asia, and they sent an executive to “smoke-screen” me. So I am really pissed. But come to think of it, that few hundred bucks is really not worth all my efforts. Hence, I have decided to seek help from the media, but subject to whether the media think our story is worth following up.

So please people, NEVER EVER try or take Jetstar Asia. I am going to boycott it, and I’m going to spread the massage on the unreasonable treatment we received.

Just a brief outline for those who doesn’t know what had happened.

  1. Went to Phuket with 3 Besties, from 15th Sept to 17th Sept (took photos, but no time to upload. Will do a post on it over the weekend.)
  2. Budget Airline “One-to-go” crashed at Phuket Airport on 16th September.
  3. Phuket Airport closed for clearing of the debris.
  4. My return flight was on 17th Sept, 8.30pm.
  5. Got friends in Singapore to help call and confirm our return tickets with Jetstar Asia, and also check if there is any delay or cancellation of flight due to the crash. (Note: coz its 4 girls, so the bfs/ bfs-to-be in Singapore was even more anxious then us..)
  6. Flight was confirmed and guaranteed, and they assure that we 4 girls will be returning back to Singapore on 17th Sept.
  7. Reached Phuket Airport at 7pm and joined in a “quite-long” queue.
  8. Was still in the queue around 8pm, so we went forward to check with the counter on whether is there any delay in the flight.
  9. Only to be told that they have given out ALL the boarding pass, including our RESERVED AND CONFIRMED tickets.
  10. There are no more flights on 17th Sept flying out of Phuket Airport, so we are stranded in Phuket. =(
  11. Ran around like a mad woman, to find a flight back to Singapore. Coz I only took leave on 17th Sept and due to return back to office on 18th Sept.
  12. Finally, after much sourcing and waiting, I got the 4 of us on a flight back to Singapore at 18th Sept 8.05am which cost another additional S$200. (The earliest flight out of Phuket)

BUT!!

  1. The 4 girls are penniless.
  2. Jetstar didn’t even bother to approach us to help us with accommodations or transport.
  3. I got SGD, but the money changer is closed.
  4. After much asking around, we got the contact of a Airport Hotel nearby. So we called and reserve a room.
  5. Took a cab outside the Airport to the Airport Hotel.
  6. The cab suddenly turned into a small lane off the main road; into a sand road with no street lamps and the grass is almost the same height as us.
  7. Its 4 girls at a foreign land with a male cabby at a ulu area. Its scary de loh.
  8. But well, it turned out to be “I-think-too-much”. Coz we arrived at the Hotel safe and sound. Its ulu de loh.
  9. Its like a chalet w/o a BBQ pit.. And with my besties, it seemed like we went back in times, to 10 years back where we had chalet at ECP.
  10. After a horrible nite, 4 girls sharing a Queen Size bed, we woke up at 5am.
  11. After a quick washing up, we rushed to the Airport. Reaching at 6.10am.
  12. And finally, after 30mins of wait.. We got our boarding pass back to Singapore. I have never been happier to receive my boarding pass. =)

So to conclude, Jetstar did not offer any help to us while we are stranded there. And they are the one that released our RESERVED and CONFIRMED tickets to those who are stranded at Phuket due to the closure of the Airport earlier on. It is simply ridiculous!! And I incurred an additional $1000 on behalf of all 4 girls. And not to mention the emotional distress that we went through. A little break turned out to be more exhausting then going to work.

And now back in Singapore, Jetstar Asia is denying all responsibilities. I till now cannot find a point of contact to talk to them. If they are sincere in helping us resolve this issue, then they should send a representative to talk to us, and not avoiding us. I am very disappointed in Jetstar Asia and I SWEAR that I’ll NEVER use their service again. And I urge all my friends who are reading this to do likewise unless you want to receive the same treatment as I did and go thru all the agony that I am still going through now.

  1. Insurance

Sorting insurance claim is definitely not an easy matter. Especially so when Jetstar Asia is not cooperating enough to furnish us with the documents that the Insurance Company wants. I seriously need help here..

  1. Interviews

I have been to quite a few interviews recently. But I know I’m not performing as well at the interviews. Its not easy for me to find a job now due to my current pursue of degree. Unless it’s a related position, if not how do you expect me to answer the interviewers why am I taking up a Communication degree, and applying for “off-hand-I-cant-think-of-any-unrelated-position”.

  1. Relationship

I have made up my mind, and have made a choice.. I hope no matter what choice I made, please accept it graciously kae. =) Give him a chance, give us a chance. I am easily affected by friends on my decisions, and I am also not very firm on my own decision if fact be told. Hence, I really hope that I have your support on it. =)

  1. Friends

I know that there are friends whom I have neglected and have not been catching up with. Please don’t feel forgotten kae, I have never forgotten and will not desert you either. =) Due to work, school and other commitments, it is really not easy for me to come up with time to catch up proper. But please do bear with me. Or alternatively, instead of waiting for me to go find you, why not you come find me instead? =) Just drop me a sms to say HI~~*

And for those whom that are currently putting in your utmost effort in your final dash in school, or have just started the journey to create your career path, “acha acha huai-ting!!!” (Jia You in Korean)

This is an extremely long post. Coz well, I just want to take some time off work.
