Dear Bloggie,
2008 Year End Trip
Day 7 (Hongkong)
Merry X'mas!!

Dont think that the weather is warm coz I'm wearing something so thin. The avererage temperature in Hongkong is 18 - 20 oC and at times dropping to 15 oC when the sun is playing hide and seek with the clouds... I tend to layer up my clothes as I do not have much long sleeve stuff. I have no need for such clothings as I come from a sunny island named Singapore.. =p

Our first stop on X'mas Day is Mongkok... Its just me and Bestie as HF says she wanted to stay home.. Saw these cute ice-cream cake right after we exited the MTR... How interesting right... We never have such things in Singapore... They have it in the shape of Pizza, Bumble Bee on a Flower, Bed with 2 boy and girl and more... Real cute.

And we stopped.. for an ice-cream... =)

Walked around Langham Place and decided to venture out to the streets for food.. One thing about Bestie is... Dont see she is so skinny, but she got a damn huge appetite. Shes one whose constantly looking for food... Walked a little distance and we chanced upon a Restaurant serving Dim Sum... =)

Its around 2pm, but look at the crowd...

We couldnt even get a table on our own and have to share with another couple... The guy is kind enough to take this photo for us...

As usual, Hongkong's Dim Sum never fails us.. It doesnt have to be a 'Recommanded' place. Jut walk into any Restaurant and the standard will 'Wow' you...

Yummy yummy!!

Walked around abit more... The whole place was busting with the Festive Mood.. =)

Its barely and hour later, and we stopped for Desserts. Shared a Mango Pudding with Bestie which is good... Hongkong is truly the Land of Mangos. =)

And I had a 汤圆 in 杏仁茶.. I came to this exact place with QH in August, and ordered the same thing.. The 汤圆 in 杏仁茶 is still just as good. =) I guess I can labelled Hongkong as the Land of Dessert too... =)

Why Langham Palace... Coz they have an H&M.. =) H&M makes me a happy girl!! And what makes it better is they are having Post X'mas Sales!! I bought this top at half price!

The busy streets of Mongkok...

See this little store at the corner with the Orange Signboard and Green Wordings... This is the place QH had her Stinky Tofu in August.. We followed the Stinky smell and we found the same exact shop... Somehow, the stinky level escalated this time round...

Bestie and her FIRST piece of stinky tofu... After that she had a 2nd, and more snacks...

And me... Totally cannot take it.

Saw their Jockey Club... And Bestie is munching on some other snacks she bought as we're walking... So I went in and check out how to buy as their prize for the coming draw is the 2nd higest in history...

My ticket!! Its like our Toto in Singapore... But nope, I didnt win a single cent.

I love Egg Tarts.. =) And here, I found the authentic ones with the flaky crust... Its yummy!!

This is the street, where they are plenty of food stores along the way... Bestie is literally eating her way all though the street. Never stopping, never ending.. =p

The night falls.. And believe it or not, Bestie is still keeping a look out for food. We have walked a long distance, and along the way bought alot of things... =p

And since its still early, we decided to take the MTR down to Tsim Sha Tsui.. More walking, more shopping... =)

We decided to call it a day close to 12 midnight... My poor feet, its aching like mad. It was that bad till we're on a lookout to buy those flip flops as we shopped... Bestie and myself decided to take an alternate route back to HF's apartment... Not the regular way she has taught us... And decided to act smarter by taking to the last station in order to secure a seat as our feet are seriously aching. But we ended up walking more...

At one of the station waiting for the train... And okie, I did a silly thing. After all the long walks to catch the train, we finally secure a seat each. Which I gave up to an elderly... So, all our efforts was wasted. And to make matter worst, I started to feel unwell.. QH, the giddy spells that you always got... It might be the lack of food (as Bestie was trying out all the exotic food, I chose to give it a miss) or the lack of oxygen (as the MTR is pretty crowded).

So we ended up at the 7-11... for the microwave meals after we found out MacDonald near the apartment was not 24hr. And Bestie got more of her Doraemon Stickers... =)

This 'Ding' Meal is surprisingly good.. =)
X'mas this year was good... A long day spent with Bestie, all the chit-chatting and shopping. Hope X'mas is just as good for you. =)
