TGIF!!
1. Uni Gathering
Had dinner with my Uni Friends (SS, AP and RS) last evening at Waraku. Had a fantastic time with the girls, and the eel don is delicious. They said my eye lashes are pretty and well-done, and I also received compliments that I have slim down. =)
2. Let’s Jia You together!
Had a long phone conversation with JT while waiting for the girls last evening… No worry pal, we will all Jia You together!!
3. More Beauty Updates
I’m did manicure on Wednesday, and have made appointment to do up my hair on Sunday. But looking at the mirror today, I realized I’m having a good hair day. It’s making me regret my appointment this Sunday. I do not adapt well to changes, but this couple of weeks, after the emotion roller coaster I have been through, I wanted changes to mark a new Xin…
4. Ming Zhong Zhu Ding Wo Ai Ni [MZZDWAI]
Watched episode 11 of my favorite TW Drama, MZZDWAN, last night till 1am last night. I am so looking forward to episode 12, where Granny Ji will have her 80th Birthday Celebration. EsM and I are chasing MZZDWAN like crazy this couple of days… I have even spread the MZZDWAN virus to my colleague. Over lunch we are discussing how cute Father Dylan is in the show… Come to think of it, Father Dylan did not appear in episode 11. *Disappointed*
5. Director Passive
Passive is still so nice. He had a meeting with my yesterday, and he asked if the bonus that was promised to me at the end of my 3 months service been given out, if not he’ll help ask HR. I mean where a boss will be so kind and attentive to the welfare of his subordinate. I mean, well… this is the first time I encounter a boss who take the initiative to help check out bonuses.
And he once again asked about whether am I able to travel… And he told me he wants me to travel to Taiwan to visit the supplier, which is fine, BUT!! All by myself… -_-“
Travelling alone is fine by me. I am a big girl and have no issues travelling alone. But to visit the supplier alone seemed like a super big challenge to me. I do not know what am I suppose to look out for or enquire. Oh god, I am already regretting telling him that I am able to travel… But thinking of it in another manner, this is definitely a fantastic opportunity for me.
6. Mahjong
I’m playing mahjong today after work. HUAT AH!!
That’s all for now…
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
Today is the third day of the working week, last week of May.
Time passes so fast.
1. Cardigan I forgot to bring my cardigan to work today; and apparently it’ll rain later on in the day… My office temperature might reach a new low with the rain, and without the cardigan,
I think I’ll just freeze to death. I think I’ll have to survive on hot tea today…
2. Dinner with CSK
I had wanted to rest early on Monday, but I ended up going Orchard to meet CSK for dinner. I have not meet up with him since Secondary School I guess, and maybe bumped into him once or twice during the Poly days since we’re both in TP, but his in Business while I’m in Engineering. It was in impromptu arrangement, but his been asking me out for ages but I can’t find time… So yesterday I finally drag myself down to Orchard to meet him for dinner.
CSK has not change, given that he is still a full time student in university now. Going out with him seemed like I’m going out with my baby brother… But well, we still had a great time catching up.
3. Jetstar Promotion
Today EH msn me yesterday and tell me Jetstar is having promotion, again.
So I just log on to take a look… Mistake.
The same itinerary that I have booked cost $261/pax now. That is like a $100 savings!!
I am …… *speechless*
4. Company Election Day
My company has a Quality Work Life (QWL) committee. The main function of this committee is to organize various events to promote quality work life in the office… Basically, it’s just to take on more duties to create fun for everyone. And every year, this committee of 10 is being nominated by fellow colleagues. They actually renamed this “Dua Li Ki Si” Day (Loosely translated as a Sabotage Day)…
Apparently this is an extra workload, hence most of them shun away from the committee… As usual the newbie always kanna such thing; hence I have already caught wind that Procurement is listed as a “Sacrifice Department”… Remember I once mentioned that everyone in my department is all here for many years… As there are hardly any new comers, hence Procurement hardly produces any committee members… They finally wait till my arrival, how in the world they will let me go.
I cannot remember much about the benefits of the committee members, but I do remember that committee members get 2 days extra leave after their 1 year term. So it’s not that bad after all I guess… I could do with extra leave… =)
Lets Jia You together!!

It is Monday again.
I wish I had photos to post up, but I still have not taken any photos of it.
Anyway, this is a month of changes…
I did eye lashes extension on Saturday with QH.
I am still trying to ‘get use’ to it, there seemed to be a shadow hovering my vision now. But my colleagues have just complimented me on it, saying that it looks natural and etc. But to me, I still find it a little fake, like I have plastered on a thick layer of mascara on.
Thou it brought me much discomfort especially when I’m bathing, but I have to say it seemed to ‘open’ up my eyes by a lot.
Hopefully the lashes will soften and it’ll look more natural.
But I do like it. =)
I’ll take photos of it and will post it up soon…
Remember I once mentioned I was force to take part in the company bowling competition by a Secretary. It was held on the just past Friday… Once again, I did not fail to impress… I secure the last 3 places for all 3 games. And my 2nd game, which is the worst game I played, I only manage to get 24 points. -_-“ But I was great fun nevertheless, I had a great laugh over my poor skills, colleagues falling down, and other plenty comical acts. And I even walk away with a Logictec Wireless Keyboard and Mouse in the lucky draw!
Saturday was meant to be a shopping day for me and QH after we did our eyelashes extension, but we overlooked that the Great Singapore Sales (GSS) has started. Thou it should be a fantastic shopping trip with reduction of prices everywhere, but this inevitably also meant an increase in crowd. So we walked around a little, I bought a top and meet JT for dinner.
Since it is close to impossible to shop with the GSS crowd, we decided to head down to Dragonfly… (Yes, clubbing again.)
I finish my exams you see, and that definitely called for a celebration.

Exams finally finished.
I am back in the office today, and I can see that I’ve really got a lot of work to do. This is really what I dislike about going on leave. You’ll have a mountain load of work waiting for you when you’re back. I have just finished my month end reports, at least I’ve cleared the more urgent matter already…
But nevertheless, I am glad that exams are all over. =)
Starting from today onwards, it will be a brand new beginning for me.
I have decided to start afresh and move on with my life. Feeling empty as I don’t even have that tiny hope to hang on now, but well… I think this is all but necessary. It is of little use to be putting effort in areas where there are no definite returns. It is only a complete waste of my youth, and I think I have better use for it.
At times, it is easier said then done. It is never easy to leave a little of you behind. But its alright, Xin will survive!
The Company bowling competition is today after work. Dinner is provided at 6pm and bowling will start at 7pm. Oh yeah! Time to ‘throw face’ in front of everyone…
I actually forgot about this bowling competition, and actually plan to go clubbing with QH after work to celebrate my path to freedom! So well, by the time the competition ends should be quite late so we postpone the clubbing. But we will still be meeting tomorrow for more shopping! And a good thing too, since the GSS starts today. Tomorrow will be crowded as it can get, but we can manage!
Air ticket and accommodations for the HK trip in August are all booked. I’ll be travelling with QH, JT and his friend JJ… JJ, is a special name I’ve gave him. Because I can NEVER remember his name is Jxxk or Jxxn, so I am to call him JJ. =p
Time flies… May is coming to an end soon. A couple weeks later I’ll be celebrating my bestie’s AC birthday. Then follow by release of my exams results. And soon it will be my birthday. And after that we’ll be going to HK.
I have lived a quarter of a century. Feeling kind of old…
Let me heal, and I shall learn to love again... =)

Dear Bloggie,
I have kept Cottage by the River ever since early 2003.
I love you too much to give it up.
But due to some circumstances, I've got no choice but to make this private. Too much of my personal life is revealed here... Of course this is a great place for friends to keep track of my well-being. But with great regrets, I decided to make this private. I am not exactly a very IT savvy person, but I've sort of look through all the functions of Blogspot. The only way to make this place available to certain people, can only be done so through invitation. I wish I could password protect this place to make things easier, but apparently Blogspot dont seemed to have this function... (or maybe I have not found it yet.)
Anyway, starting from 1st June this blog will not be made public.
This will be the last public post, and for friends who want to further read this blog please send me an email. Well, I'm sure all of you have my email address... If not drop me an sms will also be good. I will need to send you an invite in order to be able to view this blog...
I am really sorry for all the inconvenience caused. After I have send out the invites, you will need to log in with a gmail account... For this without a gmail account, you will need to sign up for one apparently. Okie, even I find it too troublesome now.. But ermm.. Let me start out with this first and we shall see how things goes okie...
Moving on, xin shall open a new chapter in her life. What needs to be put down, will be put down once and for all...
终有一天,心会找到她生命里真正的幸福的。。。

I am on course today at 9.15am, at Tampines Safra which is a 5min drive away from office. But I was on leave yesterday, so I came in today to clear my emails... (Yaryar... as in. more likely that I forgotten clean that I've got training so I came in office as usual. I am going to hitch a ride later from the Company Bus to send me out to Tampines Safra...)
Anyway, I lost the ebay auction.
The final bid price is astonishing high for a minimum 4-5 year old LV Epi Leather. And its not too fair that the auction ends at the wee hours of the morning when I was still sleeping... Its alright, I can always buy a new one off the rack. But no more Epi Leather. =(
Okie, time to prepare to leave office for the training... I'm on leave again tomorrow for my last paper.
See ya people!!

Finished my 2nd paper, one more to go. =)
Once again, I did enough to pass but definitely not enough to score... This is really a terrible year.
I'm pretty hook to this Taiwan Drama Serial this weekend.
Taiwan Serial Drama is never one of my favorite, as I find them overly exagerating. But this really rose my interest. The female lead in this serial is call "Xinyi", and in the very first episode, she said that in the Taiwan Vegetable market, the name "Xinyi" ranked first among all other names. This is the most common name in Taiwan. Well, this is definitely more then enough to get me hook.
Well, you can see what have I've been up to for the past 4 days. Surfing ebay and watching drama serials online..
Okie, just a short note.
I'm going to finish up the show... =)

Felt better after the sudden outburst earlier on, and also because I have manage to settle Active's flight schedule.
Leaving the office in 15min time. I had a tedious day and I'm totally not in the mood to do any more work. Looking at my in tray, I still got some invoices to clear.. But well, that can wait till tomorrow.
I've been wanting to eat Japanese Curry Rice for more then a week. My msn nick reads "Angel...
want eat Jap curry rice..." for 1 weeks plus. No bf is like that, noone will bother and will date you out for a simple bowl of curry rice.
And worst.. I have people msn-ing me telling me they ate Jap curry rice for Lunch! Because they sw my nick in the morning, and it tempted them so much that they went to look for it during lunch... And they got the cheek to msn me after lunch to tell me he ate it for lunch. So nice of you people ah... =p My office is located at a "birds-no-lay-eggs" place... I cannot even find a Western Food store in the kopi tiam around here... Not to mention Jap Food.
But its okie!! I finally found kind souls who will accompany me for curry rice tomorrow after work. Thanks QH and JT... I'll see you all in town tomorrow.. =)
Joke of the day.
Went lunch with some colleauges, and on the way back we saw a mini delivery van. The decals they have stated they do "Condom Delivery". One of the girl that I lunch with, lets call her the IT girl and I was joking about it... Never heard of Condom delivery...
So we went to the lift lobby to wait for the lift, a couple of gentlemen was there... And suddenly IT girl said, "Just now that CONDOM..."
-_-"
She broke off in mid-sentence and she open the staircase lobby door and walk in, and I follow suit.
And, I started laughing... Very hard. Till I'm tearing..
What she wanted to say is, "Just now that Lontong very salty..."
Another Random Post.
1. Ramdom as I am busy, hence only have time for a 'bullet form' post.
2. I am in a terrible mood now because Director Active is up to no good again. His being a pain-in-the-ass, and I have been trying to sort out his mess since morning. I am so frustrated.
3. I had fun at HL's birthday dinner last night. Can tell my cupcake wasnt very well-recieved, but its okie..
4. A fucking Secretary called me again (the very same one that was unhappy with me back then) and attitude me. WTF. Like LN back in the Three Red Dots, she wanted to know EVERYTHING thing. So when there's something she doesnt know, she's definitely not too happy.
5. A guy who has got my number from the 'Spamming Monday' has called me again today. Hello, this is like 3 days after the 'Spamming Monday'... Must you be so god-damn persistent in calling me...
6. Extremely frustrated today. Got to settle the crap for Active now.
Hope tomorrow will be a better day...

A Cold Wednesday Morning.
I had my first paper yesterday.
I know that I am not exactly very well-prepared, as I only manage to memorize the main points and not the little details. I wanted to remember the main focal point, and bull-shit all the way through. This is a Management paper after all; build on the foundations of bull shit right…
So overall I did enough to pass, but not enough to score.
This is a very slack year for me.
Before I forgot, Someone apparently spammed my number on IRC (I didn’t even know it still existed) on Monday afternoon. Someone posted my phone number and my name online, and within a short time frame, I had MANY phone calls and sms coming in. Asking me if I wanted to chat or meet up and others likewise.
I only spoke to the first guy who called, but I refuse to talk much to him as he must be a ‘bad egg’ too if he actually responded. So I hung up after I gathered information that my number has been spammed. I rejected all other calls, and did not reply to any sms.
And then, it struck me. Just that very same morning, in my Random List… I was just saying my mobile phone was very quiet and the battery could last me 3 days. And that very same afternoon, I received dozens of phone calls and sms.
Okie, got to start working… On leave yesterday so I have a mountain of purchase requisition to clear… Have a good day people!
Note: I am itching for mahjong…

A Random Post.
1. The irritating auntie (whom my colleague and I have named WITNA) who talks non-stop has resigned. Very soon I shall no longer hear that irritating voice. Will I miss it?
2. I cannot stand my hair now; it’s a little too long, and not to mention dry and fizzy for my liking. I will visit the saloon right after my exam.
3. Passion for Balenciaga drops a little. Xin’s infamous 3min attitude.
4. Tomorrow will be my first paper – Management. Bad news is I’m not very well-prepared.
5. And when I should be studying for exam over the weekend, temptation took over me and I went Orchard for dinner and shopping with QH on Saturday night. God must be punishing the naughty girl by letting me bump into YX and Uncle 1979 within a 2hour time frame.
6. Booked Air Ticket for Hong Kong.
7. I want eat Japanese Curry Rice. Anyone please take me out for dinner…
8. My mobile has not been ringing. The battery can last me for 3 days.
9. I finally have a 5-digit savings...
10. Can I put up my Birthday Wish List now?
That’s all.
Monday morning… Definitely not something in my “Favorites List”.

Joke of the Day
My Mum just called.
The flower was delivered to her office earlier on, but she happened to be out of office. So her workers called her on her mobile. She spoke the delivery man, insisted that it’s a wrong delivery. She asked who is it from, the delivery man said ‘Xin’… It did not occur to her that she had named both her kids starting with ‘Xin’, so she continued insisting that she doesn’t know this person, hence it’s a wrong delivery. But the delivery man does not heed her words, simple left the flowers in her office and left.
After close to 3hr later, she then remembered her OWN kids’ name. So she called me to verify are the flowers from me… -_-
I really am speechless ……………………………

Oh my god, I am so dreaming here at 2pm in the afternoon. My next shopping day is fixed on the 24th May which is the first weekend immediately after my exam, but the wait is so long!
And I pray hard now that Club 21 have the color that I want. If not, I have copied down all the address of Joyce in Hong Kong, I am so going to pay them a visit in August.

.Monday.
.mood: tired.
Long wordy post ahead… As I’ve got a long weekend to update.
.wednesday.
After work on Friday, I went down to Bishan for dinner with HF and JN. Have to seen JN ever since we graduation from Primary School, so its been… 13years?
Anyway, dinner was kind of weird. It might be because we have not meet for 13 years, and hence there are hardly any common topic or friends. It’s not helping that JN is a Doctor and HF is an Auditor by profession, different societal level therefore even language and habits are entirely different. I welcome the idea of KTV after dinner with them, as it seemed to be a pity to part ways before 8pm, and it is really difficult to engage in a lively conversation all the while.
After KTV I took a train down to Harbor Front and meet up with QH, CW and DL. QH and I wanted to go Dragonfly, but the queue looks long. Therefore the guys brought us to Boilers Room. Boilers was fine, the live band looks good. But the crowd looks pretty passive to me at 12am. Even then classics like ‘dancing queen’ is played, everyone was simple crowding round the stage. No dancing, no lip-syncing.
We got a little bored, so we walked back to Dragonfly. The queue was okie by my standard, it would take at most 30min, but the guys was not so enthusiastic about it. Hence they suggested going to Double O. So the 4 of us went down to Double O, to find another crowd waiting for us. Not willing to start queuing at 1am in the morning, 4 of us stood at Mohd Sultan, looking for back up plans. CW commented that we have 2 cars as transport, and not to mention company. But yet we got no place to go… So, we did what we could do best with 4 people – MAHJONG!
Reached my house at 2am, and we started our Mahjong session. We played 1 and a half round, and I won 2 times only. Can imagine how low morale I felt? My drawer was empty the entire time, till the second last game. But fortunately, my last win was a ‘5 tai zi mo’… I recouped my base, and walk off with 3bucks in the end. =) The game ended at 5.30am, and I slept at 6am… Tired.
.thursday.
Stayed at home and work on my Marketing Communication Essay… But frankly speaking, I was slacking away most of the time. Meet AC and DL for supper at night. Wanted Ponggol nasi lemak, made them go all the way down to Kovan, only to find the stall not open. *disappointed* And I am still craving for it now...
But nevertheless, we chatted over drinks till 11+, and I made my way home.
Boring Thursday.
.friday.
No plan day again.
Finished up my essay in the morning, and spend the afternoon watching my Korean serial drama… Slack till evening and went to Bishan for dinner with HY and JS. Dinner was at Swenson, we finished off the meal with an Earthquake. I love ice-cream. =) Its been ages since we meet up with JS, we updated each other on our lives, gossip a little on ex-colleagues and that ends our little gathering.
After that it is home sweet home for me.
.saturday.
I had a Marketing Communication Revision class on Saturday afternoon. During break time, I was chatting with my classmates. And I realized I have written out of point for my Essay. I hope the tutor will give me a pass for it, if not I might have to retake the module if I fail my Assignment portion.
After class I went down to Plaza Singapura to meet QH for dinner. As I was still early, I settled down at TCC with a book. QH arrived an hour later, and we went to Thai Express for dinner. The green curry is yummy albeit too spicy, but nevertheless, I love it! We finished dinner at 7plus, and we took a train to Harbor Front.
Oh yes, we are going to Dragonfly. =)
It was pretty disappointing that we came all the way to St James on Wednesday night, only to leave without even setting foot into dragonfly. Hence we decided that since the guys don’t like it, we can go alone. We do not need “quantity” of friends to club, we just need “quality” of friends. =) This is something WJ thought me when I was still in poly.
We reach at 8pm (shockingly early I know, but we have a seat the entire night), and drinks was on 50%. At first we order a bottle of Heineken and a jug of vodka orange. QH could not resist the temptation of Happy Hour, and order another bucket of Heineken… She was downing the drinks fast, and I got pretty worried. By midnight, she’s almost gone. Even the ‘do-not-drink-beer’ Xin also had 2 bottles of Heineken to prevent her from drinking any more.
We left at 3pm; her friend came by to pick us up.
Gut feeling told me his interested in her, thou she deny. Who in the world will come pick you up at 3pm after clubbing… I’ve got a free ride home, I’m not complaining. =)
.sunday.
There is a lunch appointment with my maternal granny for an early mother’s day gathering. Mum said to reach Hong Xing at 11am, so leave home at 10.30am. So I set my alarm for 9.30am. My mum actually woke me up at 8.30am to ‘remind’ me that I got to wake up at 9.30am. I was furious!! I had a little too much to drink the night before; I slept close to 4am with a spinning head. So technically speaking, I slept for 4.5hrs. I could do 5hr actually, if my Mum did not wake me up at 8.30am. And my dad is also another one. I woke at 9.30am, but my brother was a step ahead of me to the bathroom. So I zombie around the living room waiting for the bathroom. By the time that vain pot brother of mine came out from the bathroom, its 9.50am. We’re supposed to leave the house at 10.30am, but by 10.15 my Dad wanted to leave the house. I was still drawing my eyebrows in my room when I heard them opening the gate, and seconds later, my Mum came knocking at my door. She said everyone’s waiting for me.
But hello! Its only 10.15am… What happened to the initial agreed 10.30am? Hands up if you have parents like mine; don’t cheat! I know yours are just like mine. =p
A long queue awaits us at Hong Xing… What’s new? I’ve done plenty of queuing up this long weekend. After a 45min wait, we finally got a table. Did I mention that it’s only me and my brother queuing? My aunts and cousins were clever enough to come ‘fashionably late’; my parents dropped us off at the restaurant and went down to pick my Granny up from her house. Late night plus a slight hang-over is not helping too…
But the meal is great, I love dim sum.
Took a lift from my parents down to Bugis to meet QH, as usual… I was early. I walked around Bugis, bought some stationery. Chatted to AY a little on the phone, and finally QH reached at 1.30pm. Accompany her to HK Café for lunch; I was utterly disgusted with my drink. It was so damn sweet. After that we walked to the library to study.
The library was packed! It must be because it’s the exam period now; hence all students flocked to the library. It’s not helping that they put up an Art Exhibition at the Central Landing, occupying plenty of precious seat space. So we walked back to Bugis, and settled down at TCC. It was I think close to 4pm. We started studying for 30min? The waitress came over and ‘throws us out’… It really was a fruitless day in terms of studies. I have not even completed Chapter 1, and I’ve got 6 Chapters in total.
Since its still early… 2 girls did what we could do best. Shopping!
This is going to be a tough month for my credit card.
Total Damage:-
Mphosis pants
Mphosis belt
Fashion Lab top
No brand dress
No brand top
3 pairs of earrings
Muji Acrylic Box with 2 sets of compartments
More stationary since Muji was on sales
I realized that I have so many earrings that my Muji Acrylic Box is not enough to hold all. Since Muji was on sales yesterday, I bought another one. =)
Quite a long shopping list right and we covered it less than 3 hours. =)
That’s my long weekend.
Got to start studying after work… Time is running out. =)
I just applied for my exam leaves (13th, 20th and 22nd May) and my colleagues are asking why my leaves are ‘jumping’ around and not in sequence… I too wish I am applying leave for a holiday. But this is exams!! It is beyond my control… Haha.
Right now, I’m busying with planning the upcoming HK trip in end July. I am so looking forward to it!!
That’s all for now… Have a great week people!!
